Maybelline Falsies Lash Lift Mascara Review

Wow! I fell behind a bit with the old blog last year, didn't I? Lockdown means I have been juggling a hell of a lot with my eldest off school and everything else to deal with. I might go into that all another time -it's been a while since I posted a proper personal post. We'll see. I plan to write a lot more this year and get back on top of things.

Falsies Lash Lift Mascara

First things first (I'm the realist), I'm taking this blog back to where it all started, by sharing something that I love. Just like I do in real life, if I try something and I think it's great I want to tell anyone and everyone. and that's kind of why this blog was born.

I know the world of beauty blogging isn't really the same any more, things have changed a lot since the disco pants and Jeffery Campbell days of 2010 when we all loved a Mac lipstick haul; But I think photo results speak for themselves and real thoughts by real people are far more authentic so for me blogs will always have a place in my heart.

Even to this day I still search for reviews when I'm looking into buying a product. If I'm stood in Boots with a nail shade in my hand, I'm likely to also be doing a quick google search of the shade to see some swatches and read about the formula. It's also a good idea for me to take a look to see if I have a similar shade already.

Today it's not about nails, this is a mascara - and a mighty good one at that!
I always gravitate towards Maybelline when I'm after a new mascara. I think they are so good for affordable mascaras and I've been a big fan of them for years.

I've mentioned a couple of their mascaras in the past, I love the Total Temptation Mascara,  the Colossal Big Shot Mascara and the Lash Sensational Mascara  so pop on over if you'd like some more info on any of those or if you just want to have a laugh at how bad my brows have looked over the years.

This is  Maybelline's The Falsies Lash Lift Mascara. With the beauty industry taking a huge hit during this lockdown it means we're all having to try and do our beauty treatments at home. Professional Lash Lifts (LVL) are out the window but this just might be the next best thing.

This mirrored little beaut claims to be the 'first instant lash lift in a bottle' which was what sold me in the first place. The packaging may be a right bugger to photograph, but I do love that shade of purple on the lid.

now do I have a nail polish that shade...?

Apparently, the fibre infused formula is the first of it's kind, flexible film formers and hairstyling polymers work together stretch, life and hold lashes in place. Sounds good to me!

The double curved brush is so dense it really packs on the formula and distributes it evenly so it’s super easy to apply quickly. It reaches even the tiniest of lashes so it gives amazing volume while lifting the lashes to really open the eyes. My lashes are long but really fair at the ends so catching those ends of the lashes makes all the difference to me and the lift is great.

Before and After

When I apply mascara I hold it at the root in the middle of the eye, give it a wiggle and then do the same at the outer corner. Then I go to the middle again and coat the lashes upwards and do the same all over. I don't add another coat as I think thats where mascaras tend to look clumpy and this one doesn't need one anyway. It doesn't feel heavy and gives a really nice curl.  I don't know if trying make-up during lockdown is a fair test as although I'm non-stop indoors all day I'm not out and about in the elements but so far I've found there's no smudging unless I've had a bit of a cry and it doesn't flake off unless I'm picking it while watching Youtube.

Totally recommend it so if you're placing yourself a make-up order add it to your basket! At the moment it's 2 for £12 at Superdrug and retails at about a tenner everywhere.

*I bought this product myself but I've previously worked with Maybelline

  1. I am exactly the same, I thought lockdown meant I would have lots to blog about but it went totally the other way! But it's my escapism from real life so I want to keep it up this year, looking forward to reading your posts too :)
