L'oreal Mini Haul

I know it's been a bit quiet on the blog front - Summer holidays mean it's just non-stop at the moment, it was my son's birthday last week and I had a little trip to hospital just to add to the hectic schedule.

I'm hoping to be back on track now so bare with me.

As we were travelling about to family quite a lot this month I wanted to pick up some make-up to keep in my bag for last minute top-ups. With it being so humid lately it has felt like make-up has pretty much melted off by the time I arrive anywhere! (side note - is there ever a blog post where I don't mention the weather?!)

I was tempted by the L'Oreal Nude Magic Cushion Foundation but wasn't sure if it was a bit of a fad. After doing a little research it sounded like just the sort of thing I needed.

It's a compact liquid foundation that gives a light to medium coverage and leaves you with a natural glow. I believe it's the first cushion foundation to hit the UK high street actually.

It's so so easy to apply! You just lightly tap the sponge into the product and apply straight on to face. It  blends easily and feels really light. It great that you have the option to just add a little or build it up to give a flawless natural base. It's handy that everything you need is there too, a big mirror and a separate compartment for your applicator. I was impressed I managed to pick put the perfect shade for my skin tone too as there was a limited supply of testers so I had to do a little bit of guesswork.

It's available in 7 shades and also has SPF 25 to protect the skin. It's on the more pricey end of the L'Oreal scale at £14.99 but well worth it! The colour of the packaging is so me too! Love me a bit of lilac...

Being a beauty blogger and a girl who likes a bargain when I saw that Superdrug had a 3 for 2 offer on the L'Oreal products I wasn't going to leave with just the one product. I just can't.

My everyday mascara was getting dry so I picked up the L'Oreal Mega Volume Miss Hippy Mascara. This is another product I had been tempted by in the past but I just didn't need it yet.  I wasn't particularly excited by the packaging either, I'm just not a fan of orange, but over time I decided I needed to try it out.

I think that along with Bourjois, L'Oreal do one of the best mascaras on the high street. They never fail to win me over. This one claims to give a festival look and although I'm not 100% sure what that means I am impressed with the results.

The big fuzzy brush is not for the faint hearted, you can see the big kaleidoscopic bristles are going to really pack some punch. One stroke coats your lashes effortlessly and as you add layers you can get a really dramatic, feathered look. The  formula instantly volumises and thickens the look of your lashes and it lasts all day without any fall out which can often be the case with thicker mascaras. If you want to separate the lashes this isn't for you but for a full volumised look it's great.

As per usual I was unsure what to pick up as my third item so I was stood at the counter for another 20 minutes. Eventually I opted for the Infallible 24 Hour Matte Powder Compact. A staple for my make up bag to help set my foundation and keep me shine-free on the hotter days.

It can be can be used when dry or wet if you're after a little more coverage.

It doesn't feel cakey and gives my make up a lovely finish. Everything you want in a powder really.

I also got a lovely little passport cover as a free gift which will be very handy indeed when we go on our honeymoon. I used up some of my Supedrug points so this little lot cost me next to nothing!

Am I the only one who just can't resit a good deal?
I'd love to know your thoughts on L'Oreal make-up.
