GOSH is one of my favourite high street make-up brands, I use their Forever Eyeshadow sticks almost daily and their nail polishes are a complete bargain! In the past I've mentioned that I'm a big fan of their Velvet Touch lipsticks. At £6.99 I think they are a great cheap alternative to MAC, their creaminess is like no other high street lipstick I've tried and they are so pigmented and long lasting.
For A/W they have released a range of matt shades. I really like matt lipsticks, they tend to last really well and the finish is perfect for Autumn, it just seems to work. There's 8 shades available and I'm pleased to say that they aren't all dark reds, I usually expect that from Autumn/Winter ranges but there's some lovely nude-pinks, bright pinks and corals too.
I have 3 shades to try out and I have to say I love them all. The red/berry shades are so striking and feel really Autumnal and you always need a nude lipstick.
I wasn't expecting much in the way of pigmentation with the lightest shade 001 Baby Lips but I was pleasantly surprised. I think on some skin tones it might look a little 'foundation lips' but for me it's a really nice nude shade which is close to my own lip colour but gives nice matte finish making it great for day-wear.
007 Cherry was a shade I knew I'd immediately love as soon as I saw it, a gorgeous cherry red that just makes you look 'done' with no effort at all. I think I prefer a matte red lip to a glossy one actually. I was so impressed with how long this lasted too. Even with eating and drinking I still had perfect red lips for a good 6 hours or so.
008 Plum is a pretty purple toned plummy-red. It's actually very similar to MAC Rebel and works perfectly with GOSH's Velvet Touch lipliner 008 Raspberry Dream.
I often worry that a matte lipstick could be drying but each lipstick is enriched with hydraulic acid and natural waxes to keep your lips feeling hydrated. I knew I wouldn't be disappointed with the new Velvet Touch lipsticks and I'll definitely be taking a look at some of the other shades available. Get down to Superdrug and take a look for yourself.
