Q & A a Day 5 Year Journal

Sam bought me this a couple of years back now. I've seen a few people with these and I have to say I get a little smug when I can say I'm 3 years into mine now. I've got so much to look back on already and it's really interesting!

The Q & A a Day 5 Year Journal is exactly that. It's a journal that asks you a question a day. The idea is you answer a different question every day over the course of 5 years and see how your answers vary.

...and sometimes my answers don't change at all!

It's only a couple of lines each day but those little snippets tell a story and BOY! can you see how much I've changed!?!

Sam bought me this during one of the toughest years of my life and it really shows just how down I was just by being around certain people. It's actually amazed me to look back on and see that I was such a different person.

It's lovely to see how positive I've become and it really motivates me reading it every evening.

I've laughed at my of my answers and in all honesty sometimes I've wanted to give 'old me' a great big cuddle.

I've seen how I have been so easily led and then let down by people. I've seen my very poor judgement and have seen me laugh at people who take life too seriously. The one thing that stands out is the love for my family, that one only seems to get stronger each year.

I've seen the 'Line a Day' journal where you just write a line about your day but I like that this one prompts you with questions. I think sometimes I'd be a bit stuck and wouldn't know what to write.

There's 1825 answers in total and the questions vary somewhat.

Some of the examples of questions are -

Where do you feel most at home?
What makes a good friend?
Do you make enough money?
What are you chasing at the moment?
What expression do you overuse?
How do you feel about your body?
Who inspires you?
When was the last time you worked out?
Whats the best thing you read today?
Who are you fooling?

It's a nice size, I have mine on my bedside table so I fill it in before bed. I try to cover up the previous answers so that I'm not influenced in any way and then I can really see the difference in my answers.

It's great to get a little insight into what stage you were at in your life at the time without needing to find time to write a full journal entry.
If you struggle to keep a proper diary this is a great idea as it's something that doesn't require a lot of effort at all but gives you something to look back on.

I'm so pleased I was bought this. I really enjoy filling it in. I hope I manage to complete the full 5 years as I think the 20s - 30's are the years you change the most so I can see it being a great thing to show my children when I'm older.

You can buy this on Amazon for £10.99

Have you got something like this?

  1. That's a nice idea. Well done for doing three years of it so far! It's not a bad price considering it lasts for five years. It has a cute and simple design as well.

  2. I love mine, I should technically be on year 4 now but I was so sporadic with answering over the years I may get a new one a do it properly xx

  3. This is such a sweet idea, I love little things like this. My problem is I always forget to fill them out!
