GOSH Mineral Powder Review

With tired skin like mine I have never been a fan of light coverage. To feel comfortable in public I really need something to cover it up. Various health issues over the years and a terrible immune system means my skin could definitely be better. For this reason I've never looked at mineral foundations, to me they just wouldn't cut it.

When I was at the GOSH A/W 2014 event I had a little play with this seasons new release, the Mineral Powder and I was pleasantly surprised with the consistency.

Firstly the packaging is great, the powder is stored in a sturdy round pot. Your brush can pick up enough of the loose powder without worrying that the rest is going to fall all over the place. Much like the Laura Mercier mineral powder you twist the inner section and it opens up so you can 'release' a little of the product at a time.

The coverage is excellent, I actually found wearing this alone was enough for me to feel comfortable -and that is saying something! I didn't feel the need to top it up throughout the day or reach for the liquid foundation. Honestly, the redness had gone, minor scarring was covered and I was left with a flawless matte finish. I looked really fresh faced. Although it covers excellently it doesn't feel too heavy at all -more so than other powers but nothing to make you feel uncomfortable. The coverage is as good as any liquid foundation I've tried.

GOSH have released the perfect brush to go with it, the Mineral Powder brush (£7.99). It's not too big and bulky and can get into the pot to get the right amount of product to apply accurately. This isn't a case of quickly sweeping some powder over your face, the densely packed 100% natural hair bristles mean you can buff it in and really cover impurities.

The GOSH Mineral Powder is available in 4 shades. The 2 I've tried out are 002 Ivory and 004 natural. I use the natural shade all over and then finish with the ivory shade blended in under my eyes for a touch of brightness.

GOSH have come a long way over the last few years and they keep on impressing me. The Mineral Powder is £9.99 and available at Superdrug. They currently have a buy 1 get 1 1/2 price offer on GOSH products so now is a great time to try these out!

  1. Oh wow, I had no idea that GOSH had released a mineral foundation! I've been wanting to try one for a while, but they're always so expensive, so I'm definitely going to have to hunt GOSH's one down, especially seeing as you seem so impressed with it xx

    1. They have definitely outdone themselves this season!

  4. Would you say the colour 004 natural would be too light for someone with tanned olive skin?
