Little White Lie Tan

Cast your mind back to a couple of weeks ago, there was this big orange thing in the sky? Remember that? Ahh memories. I think that may have been what us British call Summer.

Now that sun has been replaced by grey clouds and rain, my legs have also gone from having a lovely healthy glow to milk bottles again. I was in need of some help.

Luckily, I was recently sent the new tanning range from Make Believe. It’s their sister-brand Little White Lie –which is an excellent name for a tan, I think you'll agree.

So my pins were in for a treat. Yesterday morning I used their exfoliator in the shower, it was really thick, and actually felt like it was doing it's job without being too rough. It also smelt of porridge, which some of you might not like but I loved! IT had a proper grit to it and felt like it was really getting away those dead skin cells.

After making sure my legs were scale-free I applied their ‘Darker’ tanning lotion to my tanning mit. I was slightly concerned that it looked like a melted bar of Cadburys, but I needn’t have worried, once it was smoothed on it was a nice subtle colour. It has bronzer in so that helps you see where you’ve applied it. The added argan oil left my legs very smooth indeed. Even my boyfriend commented how smooth they were, and we all love those 'stroke me, I'm so smooth!' moments!

I left it on all day and washed it off this morning and my legs are a lovely golden colour and still really smooth and soft. It’s not as dark as I expected and I might be tempted to do another layer to see how dark it can get, but for a hint of colour it’s lovely.

The exfoliator is £7.50 for 100ml and the tanning lotion £15 for 125ml. You can purchase this range at ASOS, Superdrug and Boots.

*this was kindly gifted but of course all thoughts are my own

Summer has been trying it’s hardest to make an appearance, but I know a lot of you have been lucky enough to go away on holiday to get that tan. Whether it’s natural or you’ve chosen to fake it, mememe have got the perfect summer make-up to complement your golden glow

Shimmer Stack Gold. £9.99

These are fairly sheer and are great separately as eyeshadows for the daytime if you prefer a subtle colour but it still makes the eyes pop. The lightest shade is great used on the inner corner of the eye or to highlight under the brow line. I loved that it has a nice big mirror attached too.

You have the option of swirling all the colours together with a big brush to add a bit of colour to the cheeks. There’s a slight shimmer to them but its not glittery which I usually can find a bit of a problem.

Boho Balm- Coral Taupe £6.50

This cute looking tin has two uses; a gorgeous tinted balm for your lips or you can use it as a cheek tint.
It has a nice soft vanilla scent and with two colours to play with its very versatile and really practical to just throw in your bag for those days you don’t want to lug a big make up bag around.

There is not a divider down the middle so you have to be careful to not mix the shades up, I imagine this could even be a bonus with the ‘Pink Rose’ shade, but Coral and Taupe should stay separate really.
The texture is like a light lip balm, not quite as heavy as a lip stick and it has a subtle colour to it. The colour was stronger when applied with a brush.
I found them a little too sticky and oily for my cheeks but on the lips it works great. I’ve only tried the Coral Taupe, but I love it so much I’d definitely go out and buy the Pink Rouge.

Goddess Rocks £12.99

I wasn’t blown away by these bronzing rocks, but the packaging is really cute and I love that there’s a sponge to keep the rocks from breaking up too much. Used on the cheeks it gives you a bit of a more of a gold tinge, rather than a golden glow, so don’t go mad with it. Mememe suggest using the rocks individually as eye shadows, which is a great idea. The colours are great on the eyelids and especially make blue eyes stand out with the gold tone in them.  I personally wouldn’t use these as much and prefer the shimmer stack but they definitely look nice on the dressing table!

You can purchase Mememe products from Superdrug stores. I really recommend that you do!
