With Valentines Day coming up (it's less than a month away now guys!) I like to seek out some of the more unique gifts. Yea we can buy chocolates, flowers etc (which all go down a total treat by the way!) but something extra special will win some big brownie points -as will actual brownies but I digress...
I stumbled upon this lovely little idea from the people over at Lovebook. I made one myself and I wanted to share it with you guys. It's a great Valentine's gift idea.
The idea is you put together your own little book that is totally unique to you. Look at it like a high quality scrapbook-meets story book.
You go through the website adding pages and editing everything so it's exactly how you like it.
The pictures are quite basic but you can make them as detailed as you like when you get the hang of things. It's all printed in black and white but I like that that gives you the option to go through yourself with pens and pencils to really add a handmade touch if you so choose.

Your book can be anything you like from individual pages that list why you like that person or little memories and quotes.
I decided to make the book about the story of how Sam and I got together. It was really nice looking back on our life so far while creating the book and it made me look forward to giving it to Sam even more.
There's a selection of front covers to choose from so you can make it really personal to you. I named the book 'Power Cuts and Sky Scrapers -the story of Jenna and Sam' which references when sparks started to fly (excuse the pun) after there was a power cut at work and Sam proposed at the Shard 4 years later.
I had a lot of fun creating it and was really inspired with ideas for new pages to add. The great thing is that you don't have to do it all in one sitting, you can save your progress and really take your time.
My book is a hardback but you can go for a soft back version if you wish. I was really impressed with the quality. All books are professionally bound and made to last forever.
I really do think this is a brilliant gift, it's such a wonderful book for both of us to look back on and is really thoughtful.
*this was kindly gifted to me but all thoughts are 100% my own.
