August- What I Wore, Ate, Read, Watched and Used

It is a complete cliche I know but in all seriousness

I was planning my next post and I saw the date and thought 'how can it be time for a monthly round up already?' Seriously August just disappeared, I don't even know what happened.

After a busy July we packed our August full of days out too.
August in a nutshell - Mason turned 3, we spent some lovely days with all the people that matter and I complained about the weather.

What I Wore-

Sam and  I went out for a steak dinner with some friends and I dug out an old favourite of mine. I actually bought this dress from Topshop on Oxford Street on the way to work one day after staying over at Sam's and not having anything to wear for my shift the next day! It quickly became one of my favourites and reminds me of such good times. The shoes are from Next a few years back, I'd seen them while shopping with my sister and instantly regretted now buying them so I ordered them online as soon as I got home! Recycling old outfits makes me happy.

What I Ate -

Another month, another Body Coach recipe. This time it's a Spicy Steak Salad which is so so easy to make. Basically fry some sirloin steak in coconut oil, throw on some tender stem broccoli, microwave some rice (I used a lime and coriander one)
chop up some chilli, peppers, tomatoes and cucumber mix it all together with a tablespoon of balsamic vinegar -lovely.

What I Read-
I was a tad late to the party but I finally I jumped on the bandwagon and downloaded Girl On the Train. I wish I had more time to read it because it's brilliant. It's a nice change from the chic-lit books I usually go for (and get massively disappointed by in the end). It's about a girl who's life is a bit of a mess and she becomes obsessed by a couple she sees on the way to work every day. It's had a lot of twists and turns already and I'm loving it. I believe it's being made into a film and I'm really looking forward to it.

What I Watched-

I've started watching a series that I count as the best TV show of all time! After reading a Buzz Feed article about how brilliant Bree Van De Kamp is I went searching for Desperate Housewives. It didnt take me long as all of the series are on Amazon Prime Instant Video so our nights have been revisiting Wisteria Lane for the second time over. It's still great even though I've seen it all before. If you watched it when it was on TV and loved it back then I really think you should sign your life away  watch it all over again.

And since you asked-
1. Gabbi
2. Bree
3. Lynette
4. Susan (Susan is so damn annoying!)

What I Used-
I've tried out a new hair oil and it's becoming a new favourite of mine. I've used Macadamia Oil for a year or so now and its helped my hair a lot -my hair is actually the longest it's ever been thanks to that stuff!. After winning a selection of hair goodies from Osmo I gave the Berber Oil a go and it makes my hair SO soft. I've been adding it to the ends when my hair is dry and needs a bit of smoothing and also when it's damp after washing. I think it makes the blonde in my hair look more vibrant and it is so much more manageable too.

September usually makes me sad, it's already looking Autumn-y, we're surrounded by DEATH (so dramatic, but dead trees/leaves etc just ain't pretty to me!)  I count down to Summer from the second I pack away my bikinis! September is always a busy one, we've got a lot of celebrating to do and all our weekends are pretty much booked up already! I have a feeling this month is going to go as quickly as the last.
