I wasn’t sure what to make of this to be honest and I picked
it up on a whim. We've all been there, wandering around Boots, you don't need anything and then you see an offer (in this case buy one get one half price on all make-up) and suddenly you need a new primer and you better get another foundation as your one must be running out soon!
Basically as the sun started to make an appearance this week I
got excited at the thought of the sun-kissed style make up I could create.
So naturally the Bourjois bb bronzing 8 in 1 cream and this primer
caught my eye. The packaging screams 'summer glow' with the gold tones and hint of turquoise. I'm not a massive fan of BB creams as I need a bit more coverage than they give, but after playing about with the primer I decided to give it a go.
It comes in a nice little lightweight pot, not too heavy to weigh down your make-up bag or to take up loads of space. Inside is a brown whipped up primer with a golden undertone and a chocolatey scent that
smells amazing. It comes in just the one shade that is suitable for all skin tones.
I was a little scared when first applying as it is very dark, but
once blended it leaves a lovely colour to the skin.
I buffed it into my skin using my real techniques stippling brush and even
alone it gave a lovely golden colour to my face. I don’t have the greatest skin so to wear alone it isn’t enough
coverage for me, but for those with good skin you could wear it for a
boost of colour and tint the skin.
After applying this silicone based primer you’ll find that it
mattifies and provides a smooth surface for your foundation. It did the job perfectly and my make-up stayed put all day.
I found this great for wearing underneath my foundation that
is becoming too light for my skin tone due to me catching a bit of sun. It’s a great
crossover so you don’t have to go and buy a darker foundation just yet. It adds that extra bit of colour to warm up your complexion without making you look tangoed.
All in all it smoothed out my skin tone, reduced the appearance of scars and
redness, made my make-up apply nicely and added a bronzed glow. A total winner in my
eyes!
