Maybelline Volum Express The Mega Plush Mascara

I'm always excited when a new Mascara is launched. Even more so when it's by Maybelline or L'oreal. I'm rarely let down by these guys. I'm a massive fan of the Volum' Express range in particular.

I saw the Volum' Express Mega Plush advertised in a magazine a while back and was waiting impatiently for it to hit the shelves.

The big brush stood out to me most, I prefer this to the thinner plastic brushes, I always manage to poke myself in the eye with them somehow! My lashes are pretty long but I aways want more volume which is why this mascara sounded perfect for me.

I love the colour of the packaging too, turquoise has always been one of my favourite colours.

I picked this up in boots for £5.99 -bargain! And I was not disappointed! Try to ignore the rushed application, I was really keen to try it out so made a bit of a mess of it! But you get the idea, it really lengthened my lashes and made them appear fuller. It lasted all day without any flaking or smudging.

The only thing I don't get is the bendy head on it, I don't really see the point of it, but that is easily ignored!

So if you're looking for a new mascara to try, I'd definitely say give this a go!

"Greenberry, You're a Peach!"

After wearing my new Nails Inc 'You're a Peach' for a few days I thought I'd spice it up a bit.

I had a few moments spare so I decided to add a bit of Barry M High Shine in Greenberry to the mix. It literally only took me a few minutes and I'm quite happy with the results. Nothing too exciting but a nice little pop of colour.

I love how adding a colour to the tips can make such a big difference.

I wasn't too sure on the colours but it's quite simple, yet effective, don't you think?

Hydraluron - Indeed Labs Review

Since my skincare overhaul it was natural that I tried out the much hyped Hydraluron by Indeed labs.

I've heard rave reviews from all over and it is one of Indeed labs best sellers. The neon pink packaging certainly made it stand out to me and I was dying to give it a try.

hydraluron-review

It's designed to be applied under your moisturiser, the ingredient hyaloronic acid retains more moisture in the skin to keep it more hydrated. It makes your moisturiser sink in better and it will take less time for it to evaporate off the surface of the skin. The look of deep wrinkles are minimised and the skins elasticity is improved. It's also paraben and fragrance free so you really are giving your skin a boost.

If you find your make up goes patchy during the day it's a sign your skin is dehydrated, and this is prefect to help you out.

After cleansing I apply this straight away. It's a clear gel and you only need a small amount, about the size of a pea will do the whole face. It's a lovely soft texture, if you find your skin is left sticky then you've used too much. I leave it about 5 minutes to sink in, generally while I put on deodorant, run some serum through my hair & pick what I'm wearing. Then I apply my Vitamin E moisturiser on top.

I used to think 'surely moisturising is enough?' and it was when I was younger, but as I'm getting closer and closer to 30 I know my skin will naturally start needing more moisture. As you get older your skin gets looser and baggier, I'm a firm believer in the fact that prevention is better than cure so this is great for plumping the skin out before it's too late! At first I felt like this wasn't making much difference but trust me, if you skip it, you soon notice the difference. My skin is plumper and has much more life to it, my make-up lasts longer and after cleansing and moisturising I'm glowing.

I've only been using this in the morning as I'm trying out a few other lotions and potions for my night time skincare routine but I've seen results already so I'm sure using it before bed too can only be more beneficial.

It's certainly worth the price, £24.99 from Boots for 30ml - just think of the Boots points! It really does last a long time as you don't need a lot of it to do the job. I really recommend it if you think your skin is dehydrated! Trust me, you wont be disappointed. This is raved about for good reason!

In Style free Gift : Nails Inc

Last week I was making the most of the sun by taking Mason on a long walk. I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone, get some exercise and get him out in the fresh air. I stopped by Tesco to pick up a couple of bits and naturally stopped by the magazine for a quick peek. In Style is a magazine I never go for but the free gift stood out to me. Not only a Nails Inc polish but a great colour one at that.

If you've read my blog you'll know I'm a big fan of pastels so I just had to get it. 'You're a Peach' is a gorgeous  peach with an excellent shine to it, which I find is the case with all Nails Inc polishes.  I'll be honest I didn't think much of the magazine but the price was great for the nail polish alone.

In Style have 2 other colours to choose from, 'Totes Pink' which is a pastel pink with lilac tones and a vibrant red called 'It's Red, Babez'

I'm almost tempted to buy another issue to get the pale pink too!

Did anyone else pick up any of these?

Showing my White bits

White is one of my favourite colours for summer. You just cant seem to get away with it in any other season. Even in Spring there's still the chance of a shower and that is never good when wearing white! (we've all been there!)

I was inspired by an email from Next to put together this little wish list for some white bits for summer -see what I did there...?!

All White at NEXT

1. We can never trust the British summer so a little cover up is a must. I love this
Hoody which is perfect to throw on after a day at the beach on a chilly Summer evening.

2. These Sunglasses are a bargain at £12.50. I have a similar Versace pair with the white detail but these are a great cheap alternative. I always like to have a cheap pair that I won't have to worry about loosing or breaking!

3. white skinny jeans are another must for summer. Perfect for a BBQ and paired with pastels! £22 is a complete steal too!

4. I love a watch with a bit of bling. This would catch the light and really set off a golden glow. Tanned arms with a white watch looks great!

5. I've wanted a white denim jacket for a while and have never got round to purchasing one. At £32 I think this might have to be my next investment. They are timeless after all!

6. I love these floral heels the cute flowers make them so girly and perfect for spring/summer.

7. One Summer must-have for me is a boobtube. I hate having strap marks so I live in them when the sun is out. I have so many colours but I need a new white one, this one is just £8.

8. A top that is flattering on everyone is a peplum top  and in white it is gorgeous. It adds a little something extra for when you want to go for something a bit more special than a regular vest top. For £12 it's a great price too.

9.I love this shift dress and I was amazed when I saw it was only £26! Its so versatile, can be worn day or night, even with a jacket over for work. Definitely worth buying!

What's your Summer colour?

Bank Holiday Weekend: Weddings & Sunshine

Wasn't it great weather for a Bank Holiday?! This almost never happens! I had a bit of a busy one.

Firstly did anyone else manage to find their name on the Coke Bottles? They've released the top 150 names and many people I know have been searching for theirs. I was very excited to find mine and Sam's next to each other in Tesco when doing my weekly shop. It's the little things...

I went for a walk with Mason to make the most of the sun and I stopped off to buy some grapes to snack on in the park when the free gift with this magazine stood out to me. A nails Inc polish in a gorgeous peach colour. I flicked through the (pretty poor and full of adverts) magazine and played around with my new free gift. £3.95 for a Nails Inc polish -can't complain!

We took Mason to Chessington World of Adventures and the first ride he went on was Tomb Blaster. Which to those who don't know is a sort-of Indianna Jones tomb-style ghost train where you shoot things. He was amazing the whole way round, just watching all the things jumping out. Pretty good going for a 8 month old! ...haha I'm a terrible mother! He did spend the rest of the day on rides more for his age group and had a great day.

The biggest event was being a bridesmaid for my friend from school. It was a lovely vintage-styled day at Battersea Arts Centre with burlesque dancers, rockeoke (karaoke with a live band) and a whole lot of dancing!
I've had a sneak peek at some of the pictures and they are amazing. The Photographer is Assassynation for anyone interested in something a little bit different. She was really good and made us all so relaxed. The whole day was gorgeous and so well planned! It was soo nice seeing my friends so happy!

this one isn't the photographers, this was an iphone jobby...

I've loved spending time outdoors in the Sunshine. My Dungarees finally got their first outing!

Hope you all had a great weekend and enjoyed the sun!

If you've done a similar post about your weekend leave your link, I love reading what everyone gets up to!

Essie Borrowed and Blue

I was a bridesmaid at my friends wedding over the weekend and as we were dressed in navy with blue hydrangeas in our bouquet we thought a pale blue would be the nail colour of choice.

Being a fan of Essie I suggested Borrowed and Blue. It fitted so perfectly with colour scheme and with the name being so apt for a wedding it was just meant to be!

The consistency is excellent, one coat was enough for a strong colour and it wasn't to wishy washy. It's a very pale pastel blue which looks great with a tan! It has stayed for 4 days so far with no chipping and that's with all the bridesmaid duties -buckles, clasps, zips (or lack of!) ... champagne glasses!?

I absolutely adore a pastel polish so I will be wearing this again and again that's for sure.

Famous Dave's Tanning Mousse Gold Edition Review

Like a lot of people I love to have a tan. I'm a strong believer in the fact that everything looks better with one. I've tried most fake tans out there, and I favour a mousse for ease of application.

I'm rarely 100% happy with the outcome as I like my tan dark, but not orange, I like it to last, to fade evenly and not to be too drying. (...is this too much to ask?!)

I apply tan before bed, then in the morning I wash it off in the shower. I like to give it a long time to develop. I often find that the colour I wake up with is what I like, then so much washes off in the shower and I'm almost back to square one! I've been on a mission to find a tan that doesn't do this to me!

When I heard about Famous Dave's I was confused about the choice of name, it's not your everyday look for a beauty product. But I'd heard some good things through the grapevine and I was dying to try it myself.

The Gold Edition Tanning mousse is their best selling product and is loaded with antioxidants and anti ageing ingredients. It's also paraben free.

famous-daces-tan

I moisturised the relevant areas (elbows, knees, hands, feet...) I let it dry then went to work with the tanning mit. I always get the best results when using a mit, and it means the tan won't stain my hands!

The tan dries very quickly so only use one pump at a time otherwise you really have to work it in, but once you've mastered that it's a dream to apply. No bad smell, no streaking, it is tinted to you can see exactly where you're applying and of course the fact that it is fast drying means you don't walk around all sticky for ages after!

The colour I woke up to in the morning was slightly on the dark side so this time I was hoping that it would tone down a bit in the shower. I got what I wanted. I was left with a gorgeous brown colour with olive undertones so no terracotta look!

tanning-mousse-results-legsfamous-daves-gold-edition

To top it off it lasted a good week, even with leg shaving which I often find takes off a good layer of tan. The natural ingredient EHA meant it tanned a deeper layer of the skin and faded evenly too so I didn't go patchy. I moisturise daily anyway so that always helps to make a tan last longer.

this is the tan after about 4 days

I'm so SO impressed with this tan. If you like your tan dark, go for this one! You won't regret it!
...And if you do, send it my way!

You can get it here for £24.95 for 200ml
