My Mother's Day

As I mentioned before this was my first mothers Day as a Mum and I was so excited! It was lovely waking up to my boys and after returning from my shower I was greeted by my one year old holding (and attempting to chew on) my card and a brilliant make up bag with the words 'real life photo shop for my face' on the side. I read the card and obviously it was written by Sam and it was clear he was making this mother's day a 'thank you' from him for being a mum to his boy and showing how grateful he is for the work I do. I know eventually the present will be from my son but this was all on Sam's behalf and it was lovely. It's so nice to feel appreciated, it's a tough job but so worth it!

I went to put some make-up in the bag and I'd noticed that he'd also bought me a real techniques stippling brush which I'd mentioned I wanted a while back -men do listen after all!

I was told there was another present to come so I spent the morning in rollers, caught up on the Saturday Night tv with a cup of tea, (wasn't Saturday night Takeaway brilliant?!)
then got ready and we headed in to town.

After a bit of a wander around the shops we headed to Office and I was bought these beauties! I really could get used to this Mothers day stuff!

We went for lunch in a 50's style diner, where we had Dr Pepper, giant hot dogs and milkshakes (our son attempted to eat the crayons on the table!) accompanied by the Grease Soundtrack. PERFECT!

In the evening we had a roast with my family and I gave my mum her presents.

Sam took the day off on Monday to treat me some more and the 3 of us went to Cafe Rouge for an early lunch where we chatted about how far we'd come as a couple (we still can't believe we have a son!).
An elderly man was sat at the table next to us and when he got up to leave he came over to us. He    complimented us, saying  how we were doing such a great job as parents and kept our gorgeous boy so well behaved. Things like that really make me smile! I'll never forget that man. Aren't people just lovely?

It really was a wonderful  weekend and I couldn't wish for a better family.

I hope you had a lovely mothers day!
